Thriving Communities​
At Teleios one of the challenges our impact agenda seeks to address is entrenched poverty among rural communities living in and around the wilderness landscapes our guests visit. In some of these critical areas, over 90% of people live on less than US$1 per day, with limited access to sustainable economic opportunities, while bearing the often-high cost of living alongside wildlife.​
We believe that those who bear the costs of conservation deserve to share in its benefits. Our approach is twofold: reducing the burdens of conservation—such as human wildlife conflict—and increasing the benefits of it, creating income sources tied to healthy ecosystems.​
Expanding access to quality education is essential for building resilient communities around the ecosystems we support, equipping individuals with the resources to pursue their ambitions. By supporting scholarships, providing resources like books and desks, and co-funding local academies, we create pathways to opportunity. This commitment to education helps communities expand their potential, building skills and resilience that reach beyond conservation alone.​
Change A Life Bwindi
Change a Life Bwindi, in partnership with Teleios Safaris, equips Batwa and Bakiga households with sustainable enterprises that reduce pressure on Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. In 2025, a $16k investment funded a CoolBrick mushroom house run by women, supplying Erebero Hills Lodge with fresh harvests and creating local income. This high-value crop links conservation with livelihoods, advancing community prosperity and ecological restoration.
Communities Living Among Wildlife Sustainably (CLAWS)
Go2Africa’s impact approach focuses on reducing human-wildlife conflict and creating conservation-linked income sources. In northern Okavango, we partner with CLAWS to support coexistence between communities and predators like lions. Their work blends traditional herding with modern conservation, benefiting three villages with 8,000 people. Our partnership began by sponsoring a mobile cattle boma and funding six eco-rangers to protect 600 cattle, promoting safer, sustainable livelihoods.
Ecoexist Project
In the Okavango Delta’s Panhandle, human-elephant conflict is a key challenge. Teleios Safaris partners with Ecoexist to promote conservation agriculture and elephant-linked economic opportunities. One initiative, the Xoa Elephant Dung Paper Making Group, transforms elephant dung into unique paper products, creating sustainable livelihoods for local artisans. Our funding helps bring these products to market, strengthening the connection between tourism and community-driven conservation.
Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT)
The Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) conserves threatened species and ecosystems across southern and East Africa while supporting local communities. Through initiatives like People in Conservation, EWT promotes sustainable livelihoods, environmental education, and capacity building. By integrating conservation with community development, they ensure both people and nature thrive. Teleios Safaris funds their projects in the Greater Kruger Region.
Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT)
Cape Town’s low-income suburbs face chronic food insecurity, while much viable urban land remains underused. Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA) is a South African non-profit addressing these challenges by focusing on food security, ecological farming, and environmental education in underserved communities. Their work links practical agriculture with long-term community empowerment, creating more resilient and sustainable futures.
